A Little Book of Brigid Launch

For Poetry Month 2024, I wanted to share Blueway Art Studio’s wonderful project A Little Book of Brigid. I had the honour of being a contributing poet to the book with my poem Legacy of Her Lot, which was paired with a beautiful artwork by the talented Emily Rainsford.

A Little Book of Brigid is a hand-printed, hand-bounded collection of poetry and artwork celebrating Brigid as a female force in ordinary lives, past and present. The collection is a celebration of womanhood through Brigid. The book will be gifted to 100 women or institutions who have campaigned for women’s rights and supported women in their communities.

A Little Book of Brigid was launched on Saturday, April 13th. The books were presented to the first 10 recipients, including First Lady Sabina Higgins.

It is a great honour to have my writing contribute to such a meaningful project. A massive congratulations to the Blueway Art Studio team, Angelina Foster and Emily Rainsford, for their incredible hard work and success on creating such a beautiful work!

Blueway Art Studio’s A Little Book of Brigid was supported by Kildare County Council’s #Brigid1500 programme.
