About.
Lara Coady is a director and theatre-maker originating from Kildare, Ireland.
Her interests are in new writing, arts for young people, immersive and multidisciplinary work.
Artistically she strives to challenge the limits of theatrical form, to create engaging performances centring the audience journey. She is interested in exploring new ways to utilize design in building immersive theatrical worlds with strong writing at the foundation.
Beyond directing, Lara is passionate about socially engaged arts practices, particularly working with young people. Previously she served as a youth theatre leader and director in her local community. She is keen for opportunities to tie her artistic endeavours with community engagement.
She holds a first class B.A. Hons. in Drama and Theatre Studies from Trinity College Dublin, and a PgDip. in Cultural Event Management from Institute of Art, Design and Technology Dun Laoghaire.
